Soccer Coaching Jobs in Calgary: Academy and Team Coaches (U10–U19)

Calgary Rangers Soccer Club is seeking knowledgeable, energetic and dependable coaches to join our technical staff.

These positions will primarily focus on coaching within our U10–U19 academy programs. However, qualified candidates can also pursue opportunities to serve as a team head coach within these age groups.

Position Overview

Academy Coaches will deliver high-quality training sessions that follow the Calgary Rangers curriculum and technical standards. Depending on their experience, qualifications and availability, coaches may work with multiple age groups and teams.

In addition, candidates who take on head coach assignments will lead a team through training and competition. They will also support the broader player-development process.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, age-appropriate academy sessions that follow club curriculum and weekly themes.
  • Create a positive learning environment that supports technical, tactical, physical and psychosocial development.
  • Provide players with clear, constructive and development-focused feedback.
  • Work collaboratively with Calgary Rangers technical staff and fellow coaches.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive and professional environment for every participant.
  • Communicate reliably and uphold the club’s coaching standards and values.
  • When serving as a head coach, lead team training and games while supporting player placement, development and communication with families.

Qualifications for Calgary Soccer Coaching Jobs

Successful candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Hold a valid Police Information Check, including a Vulnerable Sector Check.
  • Complete the Canada Soccer training appropriate for the age and stage they coach.
  • Have previous youth soccer coaching experience.
  • Demonstrate strong communication, organization and leadership skills.
  • Work effectively with young players, families and fellow staff members.
  • Hold a Canada Soccer C Licence or higher for preferred consideration for head coach assignments.

Additionally, First Aid and CPR certification are considered assets.

Calgary Rangers supports the continued development of its coaches through appropriate training and licensing pathways. Candidates can learn more about coach education and licensing through Canada Soccer’s Coach Education Program.

Compensation and Scheduling

C Licence–certified coaches will start at $25 per hour. However, Calgary Rangers may offer higher compensation based on qualifications, experience and assigned responsibilities.

Coaches will primarily work part-time hours during weekday evenings and on weekends. Depending on club needs and candidate availability, we may offer academy-only or combined academy/team coaching assignments.
