Joining the Calgary Rangers CMSA program allows players to:

  • Continue developing technical and tactical soccer skills.
  • Build confidence through positive coaching.
  • Learn teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship.
  • Develop lifelong friendships.
  • Train in a challenging and supportive environment.

Calgary Rangers teams are recognized throughout Calgary for being hardworking, respectful, and honourable. These values are reinforced every day by our coaches, technical staff, and club leadership.

How Team Placement Works

Every Calgary Rangers player participates in a comprehensive evaluation process designed to place them in the environment that best supports their long-term development.

Following September evaluations, players begin preseason training with provisional rosters. Throughout preseason, Calgary Rangers technical staff and team coaches continue evaluating players before final team placements are confirmed. This ongoing process helps ensure players are challenged appropriately while creating balanced and competitive teams across the club.

Because final team placements are confirmed during preseason, Rangers Academy fees are due on November 15 once players have been assigned to their teams.

Program Structure

The Calgary Rangers U18/U19 Indoor Soccer program is designed to provide a competitive playing experience while recognizing the different goals of players at this stage of their soccer journey.

Players participate in approximately 15–16 team training sessions and 14 CMSA league games throughout the indoor season.

Following evaluations and preseason, players are placed on the team that best supports their development.

  • Tier 2 teams include Rangers Academy as part of the program.
  • Tier 3 and Tier 4 teams focus on team training and league competition throughout the season.

Rangers Academy

Players placed on Tier 2 teams participate in Rangers Academy, Calgary Rangers' technical development program designed to complement regular team training.

Academy sessions focus on:

  • Ball mastery
  • First touch
  • Passing and receiving
  • Finishing
  • Speed of play
  • Decision-making
  • Position-specific development

These additional training sessions provide players with more opportunities to continue developing throughout the indoor season.
