Calgary Rangers Soccer Club is seeking driven, energetic, and ambitious individuals to join our technical staff as Academy Coaches. Depending on best fit, successful candidates may work in programs ranging from U4 to U19, with opportunities to take on both head coach (U7–U12) and supporting academy coach roles.

Position Overview

As a Calgary Rangers Academy Coach, you will help foster a supportive and challenging environment where players can grow on and off the field. This role involves leading or assisting in training sessions, supporting player development, and promoting teamwork, sportsmanship, and long-term love of the game. You will be joining a team of experienced coaches under the guidance of the club’s Technical Director.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, age-appropriate training sessions in alignment with the club’s curriculum and weekly themes.
  • Follow practice guides that environments that balance the four pillars of the game: technical, tactical, physical, and psychosocial.
  • Occasionally support game-day coaching and player development initiatives.
  • Provide a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for all participants.
  • Give clear, constructive feedback to players to support individual and collective growth.
  • Work collaboratively with fellow coaches and staff to uphold the club’s vision and standards.

Qualifications

  • Previous coaching experience is an asset (youth soccer preferred).
  • NCCP Coaching workshops completed.
  • Canada Soccer coaching licenses (or equivalent) are an asset; willingness to pursue required licenses is expected.
  • Basic First Aid/CPR certification is preferred.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to motivate young athletes.
  • Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive soccer environment.

Compensation & Requirements

  • Hourly pay will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
  • Successful candidates must complete a Police Information Check (including Vulnerable Sector Check) and maintain the necessary coaching certifications.
  • Part-time, hourly role with flexible scheduling across evenings and weekends.
